OJAI — A motorcyclist broke his wrist riding a motorcycle on a dirt trail north of Ojai on Tuesday afternoon and was rescued by a Ventura County sheriff’s helicopter.
The 30-year-old Oak View man, whom deputies did not identify, was riding with a friend near Ortega Trail about 4:30 p.m. when the motorcycle went out of control, deputies said.
The men called for help with a cellular telephone and directed the helicopter to their general area, then used the motorcycle’s headlight to reveal their exact location.
Deputies airlifted the injured man to Ventura County Medical Center. The man’s companion, also from Oak View, was not injured, deputies said.
