In another Division I-AA match:

Esperanza 3, Long Beach Millikan 0--Julia Rex had nine kills as Esperanza advanced with a 15-11, 15-2, 15-11 victory.

In Division I-A:

No. 1 Mater Dei 3, Montebello 0--Amy DeCinces had 15 kills and Lauren Warner had 10 for top-seeded Mater Dei (18-1), which won, 15-0, 15-0, 15-3. The Monarchs play University on Thursday.

No. 2 Fountain Valley 3, Colton 0--Kristin Deatherage had 10 kills and Liz Hudson added eight for Fountain Valley (15-2), which won, 15-5, 15-2, 15-3. Melissa Plass had 30 assists and six aces for the Barons, ranked fourth in the division.

No. 5 Marina 3, Alhambra Mark Keppel 0--Julie Renfrow had 12 kills and Chanda McLeod and Lindsay Phillips had nine each in Marina’s 15-0, 15-3, 15-11 victory.

Huntington Beach 3, Cerritos 0--Jennifer Draeger and Lauren Wilson each had five kills in the 15-7, 15-4, 15-0 victory. The Oilers (12-7), ranked eighth in Division I-A, will play San Clemente in the second round.

University 3, Sunny Hills 1--Camille Robles had 13 kills in a 10-15, 15-9, 15-8, 15-5 victory. Carrie Allen had six aces for the Trojans (16-5), who advanced to play Mater Dei.

In Division II-AA:

No. 8 Cypress 3, Corona Centennial 0--Dusty Creager had 10 kills and Laura Woiemberghe had 25 assists in the 15-5, 15-1, 15-7 victory. Cypress (13-2) will play Foothill (12-4) on Thursday.

Foothill 3, Katella 1--Danielle Bauer had 15 kills in the Knights’ 14-16, 15-7, 15-5, 15-5 victory.

Trabuco Hills 3, Villa Park 0--Keri Bronson had 12 kills and Tara Eversoll had 30 assists for Trabuco Hills (9-7), which won in three games, 15-7, 15-5, 15-12. The Mustangs will play on Thursday at Santa Margarita in a second-round match.

In Division II-A:

Kennedy 3, North Torrance 1--Crystal Eubanks and Tammi Gahr had 13 kills each for Kennedy (12-5), which won, 12-15, 13-15, 15-8, 15-4, 15-9.

Laguna Hills 3, Garden Grove 0--Michelle LaMott had seven kills for the Hawks in their 15-5, 15-0, 15-9. They play Lakewood St. Joseph next.

Sonora 3, Tustin 1--Worthy Lein had 14 kills as Sonora won, 15-8, 13-15, 15-12, 16-14. The Raiders (11-5) play Pacifica in the second round.

In a Division III-AA wild-card game:

La Quinta 3, Magnolia 2--Bonny Shum had 12 kills and Tina Nguyen 34 assists for La Quinta (11-6), which rallied for 15-6, 13-15, 0-15, 15-7, 15-11 victory.
