The High Desert Mavericks baseball club will have a new coaching staff in 1998, including Chatsworth High graduate and former major-league Ty Van Burkleo. Van Burkleo will be an assistant coach to Manager Dick Scott. Dennis Lewallyn will be pitching coach.
