Notre Dame, Fargas Run Over Harvard-Westlake

SHERMAN OAKS — Notre Dame alumni night was a big night for Justin Fargas as well.
The standout running back rushed for 317 yards in 21 carries with four touchdowns Friday night and the Knights trounced Harvard-Westlake, 55-7, in a Mission League game at Notre Dame.
While his school celebrated 50 years of athletic excellence, Fargas did not disappoint the 200-plus alumni in attendance. The highly recruited tailback scored on runs of 22, 56, 63 and 18 yards, with his final touchdown coming during the second series of the third quarter to give Notre Dame a 48-0 lead.
That was when coach Kevin Rooney showed mercy on the Wolverines (3-7, 1-4 in league play) by sitting Fargas down.
Junior Todd Fenton celebrated his 16th birthday and thrilled the Notre Dame crowd with a 69-yard punt return in the second quarter to put the Knights (8-2, 4-1) ahead, 27-0. Fenton also had an interception in the same quarter.
The Notre Dame defense sacked Wolverine quarterbacks three times, and recovered two fumbles.
The Knights finished with 445 yards, compared to Harvard-Westlake’s 176 yards.
