Van Nuys Runs Past Poly, 33-19

In its final chance to register a victory that would stick, Poly High got run over by Van Nuys, 33-19, Friday night in a Valley Pac-8 Conference finale at Van Nuys.
The Wolves (3-7, 3-4 in conference play) rushed for 339 yards.
Demitrius Henry led the way with 105 yards and a touchdown in 17 carries.
Van Nuys also received solid rushing efforts from Alex Aguilar, who had 93 yards in 13 carries, Andrew Shin, who had 64 yards in 10 carries, and Andre Peeples, who had 53 yards in nine carries.
Shin’s five-yard run put Van Nuys ahead to stay, 14-12, in the second quarter.
Aguilar’s 25-yard scoring run gave the Wolves breathing room in the third quarter.
Poly had won three games in a row, but learned Friday it would have to forfeit all of them because it used an ineligible player
Steve Smith had his usual big game for the Parrots (0-10, 0-7), carrying 23 times for 157 yards, including touchdowns covering 13, 46 and 10 yards.
