City Brimming With Events for Holidays

The city is gearing up for the holidays in several ways, including accepting canned food donations at City Hall to help the needy at Thanksgiving.
The municipal tree-lighting will be Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Services Building at City Hall. The program will include a sing-along with the Westminster Chorale, and Santa Claus will visit with children.
Next is the holiday home decorating contest Dec. 16. The deadline to enter is Dec. 12. Applications are at City Hall.
On the agenda for New Year’s Day is a trip to the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. For $50, Westminster residents will be bused to the parade and given grandstand seats. Reservations are required.
