United Effort Sought on Business Permits
The City Council tonight will consider joining a South County municipal group that would work with county and state officials to streamline permit procedures for businesses.
Firms that need multiple applications from state agencies dealing with issues including hazardous materials, fire, police and sewer services would be able to submit a single compliance plan at an office in Lake Forest.
The proposed permit consolidation zone--a pilot project run by the state--would cover South County.
Mission Viejo and Laguna Niguel have agreed to join the consolidation zone and other South County cities will consider becoming a member in the coming weeks.
The 7 p.m. meeting will be at City Hall, 25201 Paseo de Alicia. Information: (714) 707-2600.
