Police Investigate Woman’s Death

The death of a 52-year-old woman whose body was found in her trailer home was being investigated Tuesday as a homicide, but police investigators declined to release the victim’s name or the apparent cause of death.
Neighbors noticed that newspapers had recently piled up in front of the woman’s home in the Villa Huntington Mobile Home Park on Slater Avenue, neighbors said.
Police were called to the scene Monday when the victim’s ex-husband alerted police after getting no answer when he banged on the door.
Huntington Beach Police Lt. Dan Johnson said detectives expected to release more information today. A neighbor, who declined to be identified, said she hoped the slaying was solved and did not turn out to be a random act. She pointed to a wall behind the victim’s trailer.
“I hope it wasn’t someone who just came over the fence,” she said. “This is our sanctuary, and this is a violation. I think that’s what bothers me most.”
