Fashion Show and Auction to Benefit Cancer Patients

A fund-raiser to support cancer patients will take place Dec. 6 at the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop.
The store, which sells used clothes and furniture, will host a fashion show and silent auction from 1 to 4 p.m. at 27281 La Paz Road, Suite E.
“This will be an open house for all those who have supported us” since the shop opened last year, store manager Jacqui Slotterbeck said.
Although not a city-sponsored event, several city leaders will be attending, including Mayor Patricia C. Bates, Councilwoman Linda Lindholm and Orange County Supervisor Thomas W. Wilson, a former mayor.
The discovery shop is one of two stores sponsored by the American Cancer Society in Orange County. The other is in Corona del Mar.
Store proceeds are used to help transport patients to treatment centers and buy equipment for families providing home care to a relative with cancer.
