Novices and advanced Internet users alike will have the opportunity to learn more about computers in several specialized classes offered by Pierce College Extension beginning Monday.
The three-hour classes and workshops are primarily single sessions, but at least one meets twice this month. Topics range from how to set up a World Wide Web site for a business to how to use a CD-ROM.
In one class, computer novices can learn basic computer concepts and terminology.
The two-session course is scheduled for 7 to 10 p.m. Monday and Oct. 13. Registration is $35.
A second class will help seniors access the Internet by showing them in nontechnical ways how to find information on topics of interest.
The class will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 21. Registration is $49.
Another Internet workshop offers advanced users lessons on putting a Web site for a business on the Internet, with an emphasis on using Microsoft FrontPage 97, software commonly used to create World Wide Web sites.
The workshop will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 22. Registration is $60.
A more general class on surfing the Internet will help users find information, chat with other users, follow a hobby, find a job or use the computer for fun.
The class is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 5. Registration is $35.
