Lancaster 44, Silverado 19--Running back Daniel Pagnella scored three touchdowns in the first half for the Eagles (2-2) at Quartz Hill High.
Pagnella, who rushed for 92 yards in 18 carries, scored on runs of one and three yards and on a 15-yard pass from Kyle Henderson as Lancaster proved to have a more talented group of juniors than Silverado (0-4).
Both schools entered varsity competition this season and neither team has seniors on its roster.
Lancaster’s Mike Brown scored on a 65-yard punt return and 27-yard interception return. The Eagles returned two of their five interceptions for touchdowns. Dominic Flax returned the first pass by Silverado’s Luke Lockwood for a 24-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
Darsay Barnwell rushed for 100 yards in six carries for Lancaster.
