A newly formed volunteer community activities group will ask the City Council tonight for $10,000 to support future events.
Since its creation last year at the suggestion of Mayor Patricia C. Bates and former Councilwoman Janet Godfrey, the Laguna Niguel Community Events Committee has organized events including the 1996 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and a volunteer appreciation dinner.
The group seeks the $10,000 to pay for community and cultural events.
The 7 p.m. meeting will take place at City Hall, 27841 La Paz Road. Information: (714) 362-4300.
