A former U.S. Secret Service agent who once guarded the Bel-Air home of ex-President Ronald Reagan has been sentenced to six years in custody.
Timothy John O’Brien, 38, of Hermosa Beach, who was convicted in August of charges stemming from an illicit relationship with the 16-year-old daughter of his neighbor and best friend, was sentenced Monday by Superior Court Judge William Pounders.
The judge said he believed O’Brien had lied repeatedly when testifying. He sentenced O’Brien to five years in state prison plus one year in County Jail.
On Aug. 8, a jury convicted O’Brien of unlawful sex with a minor, oral copulation with a minor, unlawful penetration of a minor and possession of methamphetamine. Jurors also convicted him of resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.
