Servite (1-3) vs. No. 1 Mater Dei (4-0)
7:30 P.M. FRIDAY
SANTA ANA STADIUM
Mater Dei enters the game with an 18-game winning streak and is the top-ranked team in the county and Southern Section Division I and is ranked No. 2 in the country. Servite, on the other hand, has a 1-3 record and an injured starting quarterback (Ryan Garko). The Friars also have not defeated the Monarchs in the last eight years, the longest drought for either team in this 36-year-old rivalry. Throw out the 0-0 tie in 1992 and Mater Dei has won the other seven games during the streak by an average of 23 points. Barring any miracles, the Monarchs will continue their domination.
