Oak Park 34, Santa Clara 6--Jess Nicassio’s 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown highlighted the Eagles’ nonleague victory over the Saints (1-5) at Channel Islands High. Oak Park broke a nine-game losing streak.
Nicassio’s return and a 73-yard touchdown run by Ray Cogswell, both early in the third quarter, gave the Eagles (1-5) a 28-0 lead.
Cogswell rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown in 10 carries. Santa Clara scored late in the third quarter when Jose Resendiz ran for a six-yard touchdown.
