County Planner Wins Merit Award

The county of Orange and planner Thomas Mathews have been awarded the 1997 Focused Issue Planning Merit Award for the county’s Natural Community Conservation and Habitat Conservation plans.
The American Planning Assn. award is one of 14 presented to planners and projects by the California chapter of the national association.
The plans honored by the group worked to establish a habitat reserve of 37,000 acres for 42 species.
