Dublin deejay/mixer Holmes built his U.S. debut around sound bites he recorded on Manhattan streets, launching colorfully crafted beats and music samples (the James Bond riff, jazzy shuffles, sci-fi lounge sounds) from the verite remarks for a rich audio walking tour. If not as cinematically vivid as DJ Shadow, it still stands far out from the techno crowd.
