In “A Federal Judge Saves Us From Democracy” (Column Right, Oct. 21), Atty. Gen. Dan Lungren writes: “Our state Constitution for 85 years has preserved the power of the electorate to propose and enact laws through initiative or proposition.” Very true.
Now will the attorney general vigorously enforce the decision of the California electorate to permit the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes?

* Lungren complains that “in an unrivaled show of judicial arrogance, [Stephen] Reinhardt declared that California voters simply could not have understood what they were voting for.”
If Lungren truly believes, as he indicated at the end of his column, that Prop. 209 is “anti-discrimination,” then it would appear that Reinhardt is correct.
