Bomb Goes Off Near Zionist Meeting

A small pipe bomb exploded in the city of Basel near the site of a meeting marking the 100th anniversary of the first Zionist congress, but it caused only slight damage and no injuries, authorities said. Markus Melzl, spokesman for Basel prosecutors, said no one had taken responsibility for the bomb, which went off shortly after midnight about half a mile from the hall hosting the congress events.
