Haun Trial Lawyers Prepare for Closings
The murder trial of Diana Haun will resume Wednesday when attorneys make their closing arguments about the evidence in the case and charges that she kidnapped Ventura mother Sherri Dally and beat her to death in May of last year.
Prosecutors and Haun’s lawyers spent much of Monday hammering out the instructions that Superior Court Judge Frederick Jones will read to the jury, explaining the laws that Haun is accused of violating.
They are expected to finish writing the jury instructions this morning, and closing arguments are to begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Courtroom 45 in the Ventura County Courthouse.
If the jury convicts Haun, it must decide, after hearing a second set of evidence, whether to recommend that Jones sentence her to die by execution.
