County Grand Jury to Hold Open House

The usually secretive world inhabited by Ventura County’s 19-member grand jury will come under public scrutiny Thursday during an annual open house.
“Usually the grand jury members are present and they’re available to ask questions of,” said Betty Kane, jury services manager. “This opens those chambers up. Anybody can go in and take a look.”
The grand jury, whose volunteer members serve for a year, is considered the watchdog of local government.
The open house will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Grand Jury Chambers, Room 300, at the Ventura County Government Center Hall of Justice.
