No. 7 Edison (1-0) vs. No. 10 Capistrano Valley (0-1-0)
7:30 P.M. FRIDAY
CAPISTRANO VALLEY HIGH
This rivalry began in 1986 and has featured some talented players and exciting finishes. For the most part, Capistrano Valley has gotten the best of Edison, winning eight of the 10 games, including the last two. Why does Edison Coach Dave White keep scheduling the Cougars? “They’re a class program and it’s always a tough game for us,” White said. “I think we usually both get an idea of where we are after we play each other. We’ll have to play a near-perfect game to beat them.” Edison is coming off a 28-21 victory over Paramount last week and Capistrano Valley a 21-21 tie with La Mirada.
