Foothill’s Fossatti Beats Tustin With No-Hitter

Courtney Fossatti pitched a no-hitter as top-ranked Foothill defeated Tustin, 5-0, in nonleague softball game Friday at Foothill.
Fossatti (5-1) struck out 11 and walked one. Teammate Erin Mobley was three for three, with four runs batted in and two stolen bases. Foothill is 10-1. Tustin is 4-7-1.
In other nonleague softball:
No. 6 Irvine 4, Mission Viejo 0--Robyn Horrick pitched a two-hitter and struck out 11. Heather McConnell, who had three RBIs, hit a two-run homer in the first inning for Irvine (11-1).
Trabuco Hills 1, No. 4 Woodbridge 1 (11, rain)--Christy Robitaille pitched a three-hitter with 17 strikeouts for Woodbridge (13-3-1). Lindsey Cohan had two hits for the Warriors.
Jessica Jarnigan pitched an eight-hitter for Trabuco Hills. Megan Kirby had two hits for Trabuco Hills.
Capistrano Valley Christian 8, Laguna Beach 6 (6 innings, rain)--Alexis Halvajian had four hits for Laguna Beach (3-7).
Dana Hills 3, Aliso Niguel 2--Carissa Reiswig had an RBI single in the fifth, and then scored the game-winner for Dana Hills (6-5) on a double steal.
St. Margaret’s 4, Southern California Christian 0--Amber Arnold pitched a two-hitter with 18 strikeouts. Arnold also had a double, triple and one RBI for St. Margaret’s (8-1).
In South Coast League boys’ tennis:
No. 3 Dana Hills 11, No. 10 Capistrano Valley 7--Brian Kent and Javier Carrillo each swept their singles sets for Dana Hills (10-2, 1-1).
In nonleague boys’ tennis:
Esperanza 10, Canyon 8--Tom Loyd swept in singles, 6-0, 6-4, 6-0, to improve his record to 32-1, for Esperanza (9-2). Canyon is 6-4.
