PALMDALE — Sheriff’s detectives are looking for two men suspected of setting fire to a vacant home Wednesday morning.
Just before Los Angeles County firefighters arrived at 8 a.m. to put out the blaze at 37464 Bayberry St., a neighbor saw two men running from the home, sheriff’s deputies said.
Sgt. Greg Collins, an arson investigator, said the fire was intentionally set in a closet in a second-story bedroom. The blaze caused an estimated $17,000 damage.
“The house had been foreclosed on, and the bank was in the process of fixing it up,” Collins said. “It had been unoccupied for four months.”
Collins said the motive for the suspected arson is unknown.
