An autographed tool belt courtesy of ABC’s “Home Improvement,” a Beanie Babies Lady Di doll, a drill press and a bridal set complete with a minister are some of the items up for grabs during the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center’s annual telethon and silent auction.
Intended to raise money to support the center for the coming year, this year’s telethon will be televised live on Channel 19 from 6 to 10 p.m. today.
In addition, the program will feature entertainment by actress Beverly Mitchell and a choir of 300 schoolchildren.
Kenny Kingston, a psychic who taped an appearance for the show several weeks ago, will also be on hand, trying to ferret out any spirits that might be calling the center home.
Residents are invited to visit the center during the telethon and participate in the auction. To bid on items from home, call the center at 582-1251.
