If L.A. County Supervisor Mike Antonovich erred in judgment (editorial, July 27) by intervening on behalf of his friend’s son, at least it was an honest gesture. He has been burned once before by the press for a similar gesture and still he stuck his neck out for a friend. It took a lotta guts but that’s what friends are for . . . isn’t it?

* Antonovich has sent a terrible citizenship message to the Armenian community. Contribute enough money and politicians like Antonovich will do “reprehensible” things even if you are accused of murder.
