*** Funkmaster Flex, “The Mix Tape Volume III, 60 Minutes of Funk, the Final Chapter,” Loud/RCA. On the third edition of his high-profile mix tapes, New York’s most celebrated hip-hop DJ cuts and pastes exclusive performances from artists like Missy Elliott and Big Punisher into a compelling and cohesive mix. Included are 40 cuts, which limits most selections to only a minute or two. Though this sometimes leaves songs incomplete, it allows for a fast-paced entertainment by myriad prominent guests.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
