Murdoch Denies Report That He, TV Exec Will Wed

A spokesman for Rupert Murdoch said a report in an Australian magazine that the 67-year-old media mogul plans to marry Wendy Deng, a 31-year-old executive of his Hong Kong-based Star Television, is untrue.
The women’s magazine New Idea said Murdoch had proposed to Deng and she had accepted, but that the News Corp. chairman was waiting for his divorce from his second wife, Anna, to be final.
Murdoch has been publicly linked to the Yale-educated Deng for the last few months. But when asked about the nuptials report, Murdoch spokesman Howard Rubenstein said, “It’s untrue.”
Anna Murdoch sued for divorce in July after 31 years of marriage and is seeking support.
She also has resigned from the board of News Corp., the parent company of the global media empire that includes 20th Century Fox, the Fox television network and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The divorce is not expected to affect control or operations of the company.
