MOSCOW — A man who blew up his car on Red Square last month died in jail of heart failure Wednesday, Russian news agencies quoted officials as saying.
Ivan V. Orlov, an impoverished 65-year-old pensioner who held extreme nationalist views, blew up his car close to the Kremlin offices of President Boris N. Yeltsin on Nov. 4, wounding three guards.
Itar-Tass news agency said Orlov died of heart failure in the hospital ward of the capital’s Butyrskaya jail, where suspects awaiting trial are held.
