City to Debate Joining Pro-Airport Group

At the request of Anaheim Mayor Tom Daly, the City Council tonight will discuss joining the Orange County Regional Airport Authority.
The authority is a state-chartered consortium of cities that favor building a commercial airport at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station. Daly, who has taken a leading role in the group, has asked all those cities that are not members to join.
Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Kiley said it will be a hard decision for the council, because some members oppose the county’s plan for the Marine base and others support it.
