Frank Enjoys Career Week

Pepperdine center Jenny Frank was selected West Coast Conference women’s basketball player of the week after scoring 40 points and grabbing 19 rebounds in victories over Portland and Gonzaga last weekend.
Frank, a 6-foot-2 junior, scored a career-best 32 points on 14-for-28 shooting in the Waves’ 84-81 overtime victory over Gonzaga on Saturday. She is averaging 14.5 points and 7.6 rebounds.
GOLF
Nation’s best: John Geiberger, who guided Pepperdine to its first NCAA golf championship last spring, will be honored as the 1996-97 national coach of the year Thursday in Orlando, Fla., by the Golf Coaches Assn. of America.
FOOTBALL
Kyman honored: Littlerock High assistant football coach Bernie Kyman will receive a career achievement award at the Southern California Interscholastic Football Coaches Assn. luncheon Saturday at the Buena Park Sequoia Athletic Club.
Kyman will be one of three high school assistant coaches from Southern California to receive the SCIFCA’s Gib Dear Award.
