Lager Needs Space

In his entertaining, informative Forklore column (Dec. 10), Charles Perry writes that lager beer “requires” refrigeration. It does?

Perry replies: Ahem. Perhaps I should have spelled out that it’s the manufacture of lager that requires refrigeration. It’s perfectly OK to store lager beer in your closet, living room, bathroom or wherever (except for unpasteurized beers).
