Singers, Not a Band

I keep hearing it on the TV news and now the L.A. Times. In a Spice Girls item, Morning Report (July 1) refers to the departure of “band member” Ginger Spice. To be in a “band” you must know how to play an instrument. She doesn’t.

The media continue to refer to this hype/product as a band. In the future you might try “singing group,” and I would suggest even that is open for debate!
