Finance Director Gets Recertification

Placentia Finance Director Howard Longballa was recently recertified with the California Certified Municipal Treasurer award.
He needed to meet certain educational requirements and participate in the California Municipal Treasurer’s Assn. to attain the certification.
Longballa, 53, has been in charge of the city’s finance department since December 1990.
His duties include managing the city’s day-to-day investment and treasury operations as well as fiscal services. His work involves developing the annual budget, overseeing purchasing, preparing annual financial reports and handling the issuance of bonds.
