4 Held in Robbery of Credit Union

Police said they arrested four Los Angeles men suspected of robbing a credit union Tuesday, shooting and injuring one during a short pursuit.
A credit union employee called police about 10:30 a.m. after robbers, wearing ski masks and carrying handguns, held up Navy Federal Credit Union at 524 Westminster Mall, Officer Robin Kapp said.
Officers said they spotted the suspects in a station wagon at Edwards Street and Westminster Boulevard. Officers chased the car a quarter of a mile until the driver crashed into an apartment complex carport on La Pat Place, Kapp said.
After the crash, police said, the suspects tried to run away. An officer shot and injured one, Stanley Peterson, 19, during the pursuit.
“It was a non-life-threatening wound,” Kapp said of the injury to Peterson who was treated at UCI Medical Center.
Police said they recovered two handguns and an undisclosed amount of money stolen from the credit union.
The suspects--Kenya Brown, 18, Marvin Carroll, 20, Bruce Naiva, 20, and Peterson--were booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of robbery, Kapp said.
