Computer to Help Track DUI Incidents

To better track drunk-driving incidents, the City Council has approved using about $10,000 in state grants to buy computers and other equipment.
The computers will allow the city to track DUI arrests and accident locations. Reports on driving records and accident investigations also will be stored in the computers, according to a city report.
Sgt. Steve Despenas said the information will help the department target problem areas within the city.
The $9,193 expenditure, approved Monday, was paid for with money from the California Office of Traffic Safety, Despenas said.
