Doubletree Finishes $3.5-Million Renovation

The Doubletree Guest Suites in Dana Point has completed a six-month, $3.5-million renovation that upgraded its lobby and 196 rooms, expanded its meeting space and improved its Mediterranean-theme restaurant.
The small beachfront hotel, adjacent to Dana Point Harbor, was opened as a Hilton Inn Dana Point in 1992 and converted to a Doubletree last year. This was the hotel’s first major renovation.
Focusing on small groups and receptions, the Doubletree added a fifth meeting room to boost capacity. The extra room allows it to hold more meetings at one time but is not designed to accommodate larger groups, a spokesman said.
