Free Food Available to Senior Residents

Beginning Friday, eligible residents aged 60 or older will receive a 40 pound box of food.
Under the federal Commodity Supplemental Food Program, seniors throughout the county may apply for the food. Seniors can receive a monthly box of goods that include meat, cheese, vegetables, fruits and grains. Every other month, seniors would receive peanut butter or milk.
The boxes will be distributed at the Cypress Senior Center, 9031 Grindlay St. from 9 a.m. to noon.
