Orange Lutheran Gets No Hits but Wins Anyway

Although Boron’s Summer Richardson pitched a no-hitter, fourth-seeded Orange Lutheran scored two unearned runs in the first and won, 2-0, in a Southern Section Division V softball quarterfinal Thursday in Orange.
Orange Lutheran (19-9) will play Paraclete, a 5-2 winner over Pomona Catholic, in the semifinals Tuesday. Winning pitcher Jessica Edwards struck out 17 and pitched a two-hitter for the Lancers, who scored their runs on a walk and two errors on an attempted sacrifice bunt.
Boron finishes 19-5.
In another Division V game:
Calvary Chapel 4, St. Margaret’s 0 (10 innings)--Anna Jones hit a two-run triple for the visiting Eagles (21-2), who scored three unearned runs in the 10th.
Second-seeded Calvary Chapel will play the Santa Monica Crossroads-Santa Maria St. Joseph’s winner. That quarterfinal was rained out and will be rescheduled either today or Saturday.
Amber Arnold (9-2) struck out 12 in a complete-game loss for St. Margaret’s (19-2).
