Ellen Palmer-Gumucio, a La Habra High School art teacher, was recently chosen to help evaluate art teachers nationwide. The National Board Certification in Art selected her to assess teachers’ knowledge and classroom practices. She was chosen because of her own high standards and appreciation for art, board members said. A Placentia resident, Palmer-Gumucio has taught at La Habra High School since 1991 and specializes in cultural art forms of indigenous peoples.
