A man was shot to death Thursday night while attempting a home-invasion robbery in Anaheim, police said.
David Vangsness, a spokesman for the Anaheim Police Department, said several men broke into an apartment at about 7:30 p.m. The residents--a couple and their two children--were in a bedroom at the time. The man drew a gun and fired, killing one of the intruders and possibly wounding one of the others, who fled.
None of those involved in the incident was identified late Thursday, and no other details were available.
Police issued warnings to the staffs of local hospitals to be on the lookout for anyone seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.
