In your Ray Charles article (“Bebop on His Mind,” by Don Heckman, Aug. 30), there’s one sentence that manages to contain three factual errors: “Two hits emerged from the Swingtime connection . . . [including] the smash ‘I Got a Woman.’ ”

First, it’s Swing Time. Second, it’s “I’ve Got a Woman.” Third, it was released on Atlantic, several years after his Swing Time era, and was his first No. 1, on the rhythm & blues charts. It’s long been considered Charles’ breakthrough hit on the label.
