Titans’ Berry Out of Regional

Cal State Fullerton gymnast Megan Berry withdrew Monday from the NCAA West Regional women’s gymnastics championships at Oregon State this weekend because of a stress fracture in her right shin.
Berry had qualified for the event individually in the all-around after finishing sixth in the Big West Conference meet a week ago.

Defending champion Candie Kung, the top-ranked girl in the nation, birdied the sixth sudden-death playoff hole to defeat second-ranked Leigh Anne Hardin of Martinsville, Ind., Sunday in a rain-shortened American Junior Golf Assn. tournament at The Woodlands, Texas.
Kung, of Fountain Valley High, had a 27-hole score of 70-37--107.
