7 TONIGHT LONG BEACH VETERANS STADIUM
It seems each time these teams meet, the stakes get bigger. In the only previous meetings between teams that share the same home field, Los Alamitos won, 7-0, in a 1994 first-round playoff game, and Poly won, 22-16, in a 1996 second-round game. This time, the winner earns a trip to Edison Field. Los Alamitos has averaged 33.5 points in its last six games after averaging 19.4 during the previous five. Griffin Coach John Barnes said leading rusher Damon Johnson will play after missing the first two playoff games with an undisclosed injury. But the Poly defense has allowed 105 points in 12 games.
