City Enters Escrow on Fire Station Site

The Los Angeles Fire Department has entered escrow on an Arleta property with plans to build a fire station to serve the northeast San Fernando Valley, city officials said Wednesday.
Councilman Alex Padilla said the city has the $250,000 to buy the property at 14094 Van Nuys Blvd., but in a motion introduced Wednesday he called for a report on construction costs and potential funding sources to close any gap in financing.
Padilla said there is about $1.35 million in tax revenue financing available that could cover construction costs.
