LOS ANGELES — A transient from New York was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday after pleading no contest to charges that he molested a 6-year-old girl who was receiving treatment for leukemia at Childrens Hospital.
Paul George Wagner, 45, was arrested Nov. 9, the day of the attack. He was charged with committing a lewd act on a minor.
Steve Rutledge, a hospital spokesman, said Wagner walked into the hospital through the front entrance. Rutledge said media reports suggesting that the man sneaked into the hospital through a closed side entrance were inaccurate.
Of the sentence, Rutledge said: “Three years? In this case, it’s not good enough.”
The sentence was handed down by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Steven Van Sicklen.
