Baseball
Johnson shut out Stanford on two hits over 6 1/3 innings Friday. Johnson, the team’s closer last season as a freshman, was making his first college start.
THIS WEEK
Baseball: The 17th-ranked Titans (1-2) play at Pepperdine (5-0) at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Fullerton hosts Fresno State in a three-game series beginning at 7 p.m. Friday.
Men’s basketball: The Titans play at Nevada (7-13, 3-7) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday . The Titans return home to play UCI (5-15, 1-9) at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Women’s basketball: The Titans (3-17, 1-8) host North Texas (15-6, 7-2), the Eastern Division leader, at 7 p.m. Friday, then play at UC Irvine at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Softball: The season opens with a tournament at Hawaii Thursday through Sunday. The Titans have all their top players back, including RBI leader Nikki Hart and home run leader Brenda Iglesias.
Wrestling: The Titans face Stanford in their final home match of the season at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Women’s gymnastics: The Titans, who won their first meet of the season Friday against UC Davis, are at San Jose State for a dual meet at 7 p.m. Friday.
Tennis: The Titans (2-2) have home matches against Point Loma at 2 p.m. today and against UC Irvine at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Track: The Titan women’s team will compete in the Long Beach Relays at 10 a.m. Sunday.
