* Strouds Inc. reported a net loss of $1.2 million, or 15 cents a share, for its fiscal first quarter ended May 29. That compares with a loss of $596,000, or 7 cents, last year. The Industry-based retailer of home textile products reported a dip in sales, to $53.6 million, down from $55.0 million a year ago. Strouds shares fell 25 cents to close at $1.38 on Nasdaq.

* WD-40 Co., the San Diego-based maker of lubricants and soap, reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $4.6 million, or 30 cents a share, compared with $4.1 million, or 26 cents, a year ago. Revenue for the period ended May 31 rose 5.1% to $33.5 million. WD-40 shares rose 44 cents to close at $25.44 on Nasdaq.

* Edison International Inc., based in Rosemead, said its Edison Capital unit invested $92.5 million in Enron Corp.’s Storm Lake wind-power project in Iowa, which generates as much as 112.5 megawatts of electricity, enough power to light about 50,000 homes.
