Not a Fond Farewell to the Kings
Dear Tim Leiweke,
I’m sure you will be glad to know this is my final letter to the Kings and I will not write the L.A. Times anymore. I think the last straw was the article in Wednesday’s paper where our illustrious general manager (with your approval, of course) stated that because of the Duchesne fiasco and all the non-moves, the Kings will not be entering the free-agent market in the future, thus relegating hockey to third-world status for all eternity.
Thank God. No more freeway jams, no more outrageous parking fees, and most of all, no more paying high prices to see a minor league team masquerading as a real hockey franchise.
Isn’t it fitting that the Kings and Clippers will be sharing the same venue? History’s two worst franchises in the same building. I hope the Kings are planning to have piped-in crowd noise to compensate for the empty building.
