The City Council on Tuesday will consider imposing a moratorium on taxi permits until a committee can review Anaheim’s current and projected taxicab needs. The proposed action comes on the heels of a staff recommendation to deny a request to double A-Taxicab Co.’s fleet and turn down a permit to let South Coast Cab Co. operate in Anaheim--actions that some hotel owners say would hamper the overall quality of service they can provide to guests.
Currently, 165 taxicabs from two companies--A-Taxicab and Yellow Cab of North Orange County--serve Anaheim.
The council meets at 5 p.m. in chambers, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd.
